Planning a Gatlinburg Wedding can be easy and stress free if you take a little time to think things through. It also helps to get some advice from a Gatlinburg Wedding Planner who lives in the Smoky Mountains, knows the area and knows the best wedding vendors.Gatlinburg Wedding

Talia Sisson is a certified wedding coordinator who works at Bluff Mountain Inn, a Gatlinburg Wedding Venue, and has also worked in conjunction with other planners in the area. Here are a few of her tips for a perfect wedding day.

1. Dress for success! There is no shortage of outlets for gorgeous wedding dresses these days. Shops like David’s Bridal are everywhere and you can have experts help you with fitting and caring for the dress. And while a beautiful long train might look lovely when you’re walking down the aisle of a cathedral, it might not be the best choice for a outdoor wedding. We certainly wouldn’t discourage your from buying the dress of your dreams but remember when you’re walking in the woods to get that wonderful shot you saw on Pinterest that your dress might be picking up some unwanted sticks and stickers along the way. Just something to consider.

Also those to-die-for 5 inch heels are gonna look great on you! However, having a pair of cute flats to slip in and out of for the wedding portrait time could be a life saver. (Your feet might thank you toward the end of the reception too.)

2. Listen to mother nature! Most Gatlinburg wedding venues have backup plans incase of inclement weather, but guest have been known to skip out early from hotter-than-hot summer tent weddings or improperly heated winter loft receptions.  Maybe while shopping for wedding goodies at Hobby Lobby and Target, just take a peek at the cute and festive selection of umbrellas  or fun blankets to give out as gifts to your guest for those winter weddings or rainy summer nights! It can make for some fun photos either way!

3.Take one step at a time. Put together a wedding planning schedule and do things one by one, in logical order, so you don’t take on too much too fast and end up with everything snowballing around you. Don’t hire vendors before you’ve confirmed your date or your Gatlinburg wedding venue.

Finding an all-inclusive Gatlinburg Wedding venue is an excellent idea. Brides and grooms who work busy schedules might not have the time to dedicate to planning a wedding on their own. If your all-inclusive venue that includes a wedding planner/coordinator, reliable wedding vendors such as photographers, caterers, florists and bakers that can relieve a lot of the stress involved in the planning process.

Happy planning!!!

Why choose a Gatlinburg Wedding Venue?

Gatlinburg Wedding Venues come in lots of shapes and forms. Ever wonder why a couple might choose a Gatlinburg wedding venue? Many times it has to do with the location. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are pretty centrally located with probably 75% of the population of the US within driving distance. And it makes it easier to get people to travel to your wedding if they can also get on a little vacation with the package.

There’s also so much to do here; hiking, rafting, theaters and other attractions. Not to mention the most visited national park in the country, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

In Eddie and Angel’s case they had chosen the location and were pretty much set on a different venue than ours but that venue didn’t allow outside photographers. So Angel went on a hunt for wedding photographers and found RIK Photography.

The original plan was that they would be married at a chapel in Gatlinburg then meet our photographers somewhere for a beautiful bride and groom photo session. But as we talked and worked through some options the engaged couple decided it might make more sense to have their wedding, reception, and photos done here at Bluff Mountain Inn, a Gatlinburg wedding venue where there is so much to offer in the way of wedding packages, venues and options.

What a fun group they were to work with. Love was all around and once they met up for their first look they were inseparable for the rest of the evening.

We heard lots of stories about how they got together and things they had gone though that we decided to let them tell their own story here.

What She Said:

How Eddie and I met.

“ Well, as much as I would like to say when Eddie and I met it was the typical ‘love at first sight’ but it was not.

A few years ago he and I had both Joined the Air Force around the same time. Both of us were a little late in age to join with absolutely no reason to do so at that point in both of our lives, we both had joined just out of a whim. We now, of course, both see it as we were just supposed to find each other.

After I finished my military training I met Eddie when first introduced to my unit at the base. My job in the military is what most would consider a “male-oriented” job so at that time I was the only female assigned to it. Most of my closer friends have always been men so it really didn’t bother me much.

Eddie and I hit it off right from the start but I had never saw him in any other way then as friends. At that time we both were getting out of complicated relationships so any other kind of relationship with him really had not occurred to me. We would hang out on weekends, watch movies, have a beer or two etc. and then one night we were just talking and hanging out as usual but this time when I looked over at him out of nowhere he had slid so close to me that his face was literally right in front of mine, but like I said before I did not see him in that way….  so I believe my exact words were “umm, if your trying to kiss me just hurry up and do it already” HAHA! And he did.  Immediately I grabbed him and pulled him back with a pause at how ironically un-awkward it was, I then pulled him back to me.

Since that night Eddie and I have literally been inseparable. Between life, the military, our kids etc. We have gone through a lot to be together but I wouldn’t have it any other way. He is my best friend, soul mate, lover and every piece of me that was missing. There is no other man in this world that could be a better husband to me.”

What He Said:

How I met my wife.

“Angel and I met through the military. I had been at my unit for less than a year when she got assigned to us. When she walked in the first thing I thought was “Damn she is gorgeous” but I could tell right away that she had no interest in anything other than a working relationship with any of us.

As time passed we got to know a little bit our each other and became very good friends. Became such good friends that I openly told her confidential things about myself, both good and bad. I trusted her deeply even then. I even remember we used to tell each other about how we never wanted to be married again! We both had been divorced and both have had two children from our previous relationships so we were not interested in anything serious whatsoever. But she became my confident friend, that just by itself was more than I ever expected. For those who really know Angel, they would know that she has only one true color and is very selective on who her friends are.

But she became my confident friend, that just by itself was more than I ever expected. For those who really know Angel, they would know that she has only one true color and is very selective on who her friends are.

One night while we were hanging out I somehow found the nerve to try and kiss her. I can tell she was not expecting it whatsoever. After that night I have yet to be able to leave her side.

Knowing Angel has really taught me how to open up my heart fully to someone like I never have before, didn’t even think I was capable of it. Since we have been together she has taken me on such an amazing. I am more than excited to begin this new chapter of our lives together.

Angel is not just my wife, she is my soulmate, the love of my life and the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

We had a wonderful time working with Janine & Nick along with a few friends and family on their wedding day.

Janine agreed to share their love story with us.  We hope you enjoy it.

“In 1996 at the ripe old age of 17 I jetted off to Tenerife, a Spanish island off the coast of Africa, for my summer holiday. On my first night there I met Nick, 23, who was there working for the summer. We spent every day and evening together. Once back in England we kept in touch and Nick visited but we were young and our lives went in different directions. In 2008 with the launch of Facebook Nick found me again but we were both in relationships and lived in 2 different countries. In 2013, now both single again, Nick decided to try his luck by sending a flirtatious message. From then on we messaged all day, every day not allowing the 5 hour time difference to interfere. 2 years later and some flying back and forth Nick took a leap and proposed on New Years Eve 2014. After 19 years in the making we finally became one on 6/26/2015. Excited to finally be together and to see what life has in store for us! Thanks to Bluff Mountain and staff for making our day even more special”

We’re happy to get the chance to host weddings for people from around the world.  What wonderful job to have!

Congratulations and Cheers to the happy couple beginning the rest of their lives together.
